OFFROADERFEST, our annual two day trophy meet is back for 2016, but this time we're on our new track. So clear a space in your calendar for mid October. Entries open this Saturday September 3rd and close on October 9th. Details below. Hope to see you there!
We're almost there. Offroaderfest 2016 is happening this weekend. Our dedicated track guys have been busy repairing all of the rain damage to make sure we have a good track to race on.
Even if you're not entered to race, spectators are welcome with a sausage sizzle and drinks available for everyone on both days
After a lot of consideration and looking at options we have made a decision for Offroaderfest over the weekend.
We have decided due to the poor weather outlook for Sunday that we will run the meet on Saturday only.
While this is not ideal the weather is going to be cracking and we will be able to get a good meet completed, we didn't want to waste a great day of weather if it meant we only completed one heat Saturday and had to pull the pin Sunday.
What this means is there will be NO practice on the track tomorrow (Friday) so as to keep the playing field even for Saturday - We will be presenting trophies at days end Saturday and want to keep it fair for all.
Even half an hour of practice would be a huge benefit if others were unable to do so.
Saturday will begin at 7:55am and we will seek a vote from all competitors on how the day is to be run, we felt this be the best way.
The committee believe we could run 1 or 2 heats as controlled practice then get into competition, so as to give every one a warm-up and to run the track in. The committee will have a few examples of possible race programs simply so people can get an idea of how long things will take to complete.
Racing will then start at 8am
Looking forward to seeing everyone for the vote and then the racing.
Well, we managed to squeeze Offroaderfest 2016 down to a single day with success. The results will be up soon, but in the meantime here's a few photos.....
Just one of the races recorded on the day. The premiere class, some might call it.
