    Hey filthy,

I might go with the x-can for starters as well. its a bit cheaper than the others. Does it perform better than the HPI Tuned Pipe? thats the one that comes stock on the SS and it doesn't look half bad either.
Anyway even if I end up with an x-can, I have these little rubber thingos that go on the end of the exhaust bits sticking out (they are from my heli) so I would be able to aim the engines poop somewhere else

Dam! these are the most expensive tires I will have ever bought before. $100 for Bow tie's on desperado rims! I am used to paying like $10 for a pair of 1:10 on-road rubber tires from the LHS. Oh well, have to upgrade oneday...
What would you rate better for long lasted-ness, Bow tie's or the excavators, I want these to last as long as they can...

Also in the first images you posted of the car, it has excavator rears on both the front and back, This is the beefy look I am referring to and want to recreate. is there an axle mod that has to be done to get these to fit? if so what is it?

    Cheers, d5ive

No its no axle mod its just a set of rears put on the front as well. It did look tough but I would recommend a steering servo upgrade if your going to do that especially with the Excavator tyres.
Go the Excavators as they are awesome. I put mine on some rough terrain for about 3 or 4 tanks and there is no sign of wear. Also with the power they balloon out a fair way and show no signs of splitting on the side wall. The name really suits the tyre as it excavates like you wouldn't believe.
I've never had the SS pipe as I bought mine with a different exhaust. The guy I bought it from built it but didn't ever run it. I don't know what he did with the SS pipe.
Excavator rear tyres and Bow Tie front tyres. That the combo I'm running now.
Its not a joke Bajas make you broke.

Thanks for the info Filthy, Who do you think about a Hitec 5745 Digital servo? will it do the job with 18kg @6V (which is what I plan to run).

Cheers mate, get some vids up! I'm loving it so far. esp that jump

I think quite a few people are running that servo. Good price and plenty of torque. It should handle that application of rear rims on the front nicely.
I might upgrade to that as well so I got all digital servos. You need to get an adapter to get a proper fit. http://www.rcbuggies.com.au/osc/prod...roducts_id=605 is what I'm talking about.
Next time I'm out which should be Sunday with any luck I'll take the video camera again.

    Hey,

Thanks filthy, according to Fast Eddie an adapter for the shorter servo length comes with the parts kit that comes with the Baja, but the metal clamps a re probably a good idea, thanks for the link

Will be looking forward to that vid after a hard sunday of study. Exams next week can't get my Baja till afterwards and then we are going away a week after exams r over.

Found an awesome spot for baja dune bashing. Got it all. Hill climbs, flat terrain, jumps etc. First time using the sand paddles. Needed them because the excavators were not getting the grip. I got heaps more videos from today but will take a while to upload. In the mean time enjoy this one.
    Cheers

HAHAHAHA. I will when I get different gearing. It won't make bugger all difference with the stock gears. It gets to top speed quick enough as it is.
The CPI would not of lasted with the bashing I was doing. I don't like those long brackets. They look like the welding will break. I will get extra welding on those brackets before fitment.
Until then X-CAN reigns supreme!!! LOL

Yeah I was thinking of that. Might see if I can get some pipe to bend a nice curve in and have some stacks big rig style.
Or even have one out one side and one out the other like a drag car.
